I've made incredible strides, am getting insanely strong, have lost a TON of weight (cheers to those next goals we have in sight!), made the gym a place where I get to check out of the world and into myself, and found a way to have fun while doing it!

In three months I lost almost all of the weight I wanted to lose in total, and am staying on track to achieve my other fitness goals. It’s very hard for me to be self disciplined about working out, but to have to show up and be accountable to someone, that’s what does it for me, so this was a good fit.

I have scoliosis and it is causing me to bend forward and left. Sean has been working with me to activate muscles that have atrophied due to not being used. (I have been using the wrong muscles) By activating those muscles through special stretching and strength building techniques I have been able to experience significant gain in correcting my posture. We have been documenting the progress with photos and it is quite impressive. I look forward to continued improvement as we progress through additional exercises to build on what we have already accomplished.

This was the first time I have pursued personal training, and the experience has been exactly what I hoped for. I needed some more consistency in workouts, needed some accountability, and hoped to learn more about weight lifting. I've always been into running, and not been excited about weight lifting, so I was excited that Nick tailored the workouts to my desires, while still exposing me to aspects of weightlifting I was missing. Nick is an all around great guy, and very easy going, and I found his personality and training style to be really great, and supportive of my goals. I had the opportunity to train with the other trainers in this group also, and had great experiences with all of them. I would highly recommend Portland Personal Training for anyone looking for personal training!

I had 12 weeks to get in shape for hiking in Peru. Nick kept me focused and pushed me when I needed it. He is a great listener and gave me 30+ different work-outs that I still follow. He helped with my nutrition, too, so that I could kick a few bad habits. Fees are reasonable -- your health is worth the investment!

This is an excellent program. I came into PPT with neck and shoulder pain that I'd had for years, due to poor posture, incorrectly carrying children, and holding onto a ton of unspoken stress....Pain was beginning to define the very core of me. By the end of my time with Nick, my upper back and neck had strengthened, resulting in better posture. My headaches and radiating pain had disappeared, and the neck pain decreased dramatically as my body learned to hold itself properly. Now I feel completely empowered to continue my healing and strengthening on my own. I don't feel enslaved to pain anymore. I'm so thankful to Nick and to the people who referred me to him.

I started working with Khino a month ago. It is so wildly different to any PT experience I have had before. Khino really listens to where you are with your health, your current physical ability and your goals. He put together a great program for me that varies each session and that I really enjoy. He pushes me, but in a motivational and encouraging way, which is different to the harsh pressure I have had leveraged onto me before by trainers. He has excellent knowledge of nutrition, of different types of exercise and how to work in a very individual way with a variety of clients. I'm recovering from serious illness and he has been so open to learning and working with me on that. On top of all of this he is a really lovely human being, and when you spend 3-4 hours a week with someone this is so important. I cannot recommend this business enough. Invest in yourself, work hard, and you will definitely see results with them.

Several years ago I was approaching 60, dealing with a debilitating ankle issue, and very unmotivated. I luckily discovered PPT and Nick. After several sessions with Nick he connected me with Larissa. We first dealt with diet and weight issues (I am very hesitant letting anyone go there), which needed to be addressed. For the first time I was diligent about recording what I ate! Larissa was great about suggesting new ideas that would improve my diet without making me feel like I was giving up alot. From there we worked on the overall body with weights, cardio and balance. I feel so fortunate to have found Larissa. I learned a lot, and have become so much more motivated. Thank you PPT!!!!

I talked to Portland Personal Training and Weight Loss 2 weeks before Labor Day to do their WELLNESS TRAINING program, gave myself a couple weeks to prepare (and celebrate my husband’s birthday) and started on Monday 9/5/16.
Let’s get the good news out there right away….
Week#1: 8.6 lbs / Week#2: 11.0 lbs / Week #3: 13.0 lbs / Week#4: 17.0 lbs
I am 42 years old, I was 293.6 lbs when I started, I have high blood pressure. I decided to get my labs done before starting this program and found out I’m either diabetic or pre-diabetic. I had NO idea…

WOW! What hasn't changed for me in working with Nick at Portland Personal Training? My body, my mind and my spirit have all grown and changed in positive and fantastic ways. He has given me a new body that is toned and firm, in just 2 1/2 months I have lost 5% body fat. I am 38 and feel about 18 and with my 20 year reunion is this summer, I am confident to walk in feeling and looking great! But, toning up was just one great part of working with a personal trainer, it went far deeper. Nick gave me ‘opportunities’ which is something I had not had in years. The opportunity to look better, feel better, have more energy for my kids and husband, feel confident in a swim suit again and most of all accomplish a goal just for me, not as a mom or wife. In general most of my days are about caring for others and I spend all my time driving, cooking, cleaning and planning, so what was left inside of me for myself was ZERO. With my newfound energy and spirit to take care of me, I have been a better mother and wife. I can not thank Nick enough for getting me back out there and moving again. Since starting with Portland Personal Training I went from working out 2 days a week to 5 and loving it! There is a sense of strength and pride building inside myself as I accomplish each new goal, class, move and push up, which by the way I can do 15 now in a row!

I started working with Nick about a year ago. I was trying to get out of my rut of not exercising, and knew that working with a fitness trainer was always successful. He worked with me on the goals I had, whether it be weight loss or just toning up. He realized there would be a difference in the workout based on my age, but that didn't make him let up on me! He always had something different for me so that I didn't get bored. He knows his stuff and will share his info with you if you're willing - diet, lifting weights, cardio. I can see the difference in my muscle tone, my stamina, and the fact that I can lift a 40-pound bag much easier than before! I think if anyone has the discipline to work with him, they will definitely see results.

Molly and I had gotten to the point where our at-home weight loss and personal fitness program was turning into more of a series of failed diets. We decided that we needed to take the next step if we were going to lose weight and keep it off. After researching Beaverton and Portland personal trainers, we found Nick with Portland Personal Training and Weight Loss. We were very nervous and anxious, and not sure what to expect, but we decided that if we ever wanted to look like we did in our wedding photos, that we had to just go for it.

I needed a lifestyle change, but couldn’t seem to do it on my own. I wanted to be strong and healthy and wasn’t sure how to get there. In the past, spending time in the gym wasn’t something I enjoyed…really, I was intimidated. I started training with Carly and everything changed for the better. I eat better, sleep better, look better, but most importantly, I feel better. We were able to set goals that were important to me and design a plan that was compatible with my lifestyle. In four weeks, I lost 1.3% body fat and 1 inch in each thigh! Without Carly’s continuous encouragement and support I don’t know if I would have been able to stay motivated. I know for sure, I wouldn’t have seen results so quickly without her. Working out with a trainer is one of the best decisions I have ever made, my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner!
